(a) Efficiency:
Ozone generators do not require any additional auxiliary materials or additives for disinfection. During the disinfection process, the ozone generator produces a certain amount of ozone, which, in a relatively sealed environment, diffuses evenly and exhibits excellent coverage and permeability. This overcomes the problem of disinfection dead zones inherent in UV lamp sterilization, achieving comprehensive, rapid, and highly effective disinfection and sterilization. Moreover, thanks to its broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, it can effectively eliminate a wide variety of microorganisms—including bacterial vegetative cells, spores, viruses, fungi, and protozoan cysts—and can also destroy Clostridium botulinum, its toxins, and Rickettsia. (b) Purity:
Ozone naturally decomposes into oxygen in the environment, which is a unique advantage of ozone as a disinfectant and sterilizer. Ozone is generated from the oxygen in the air; during the disinfection and oxidation process, the excess oxygen atoms (O) recombine to form molecular oxygen (O2) after 30 minutes, leaving no residual substances behind. This eliminates the issue of secondary contamination caused by residual disinfectants after disinfection, and also eliminates the need for additional cleaning after the disinfection process is complete.
(c) Convenience:
Ozone sterilization equipment is typically installed indoors or integrated into central air-conditioning systems, air purification systems, or sterilization devices (such as ozone disinfection cabinets and pass-through windows). Depending on the required concentration and duration of sterilization, the ozone sterilization equipment can automatically set its timer control, making it convenient and easy to operate. In contrast, formaldehyde and ethylene oxide fumigation disinfection require long exposure times, whereas ozone disinfection can be scheduled and activated daily.
